Singer Jessie Wagner boasts an impressive and dynamic career as a vocalist. She has shared the stage with iconic artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Chic, Kid Rock, Duran Duran, and Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. In addition to her work as the frontwoman of Army of the Underdog, she has lent her talents to numerous tracks, showcasing her remarkable versatility, vibrant energy, and expansive vocal range. In 2020, she took a significant step into the spotlight with the release of her debut solo album, "Shoes Droppin'." Released on October 9, 2020, via Stevie Van Zandt's Wicked Cool Records, the album received critical acclaim despite the challenges of a pandemic. Wagner successfully performed at New York City’s iconic Bowery Electric, engaging both virtual and in-person audiences.
Recently, she opened for several acts at Musikfest and continues to captivate audiences throughout New York City and the tri-state area. Her highly anticipated sophomore album, "The War Within," was released in April 2025 and was met with rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
Reflecting on her solo journey, Wagner shares, “It’s exciting to stand alone and see if anyone connects with (it). I’ve had some of these songs with me for years, but I was always waiting for the right time to put them out. It’s scary because this is my voice, my words, just me. It was cathartic to express some of that anger and sadness, but there’s also a sense of faith that it will all get better.” She is thrilled to showcase her passion and energy on stage as she performs her original songs as a solo act. Proving once and for all that, whether the other shoe is droppin', or the War Within rages on, she's still Wicked Cool!
